I was considering taking my two kids to Day Out with Thomas in Sept. DD will be almost 3 and DS 17 months. If you've been there, would you recommend it? Is there anything to do there besides riding the train? TIA!

Re: Day Out with Thomas
I will tell you it can get insane there during that time. At the railroad, there is nothing else there but the train, a gift shop and a candy shop. However, you are in the middle of a bunch of Lancaster county stuff. You have the ChooChoo barn...if you want to continue with the trains, the national Christmas center, which IMO is awesome no matter what time of year (though I believe that's another direction)...these sites should help you figure out what's near and possible of interest.

If you are able to stop at the visitor's center, the folks there are very helpful.
Also, depending on when you go in September, Dutch Wonderland would be open on weekends I believe. It's a small amusement park tailored toward younger children. http://www.dutchwonderland.com/tickets/index.php
