Hi a friend said I should join. My husband and I married in October 2007 and purchased our first home 2 month later. We plan on a small kitchen remodel later this year. Not sure what else to include in an introduction so hi everyone.
Re: Hi
Hi! I was married 10/15/10 and bought my house in 2008. Do you have any kids or pets? We have a Great Dane and no kids.
Welcome!
Hello and Welcome!
We are remodeling our kitchen later this year, too!
Welcome! Where do you live? Any kids or TTC? Pets? We remodeled last year--mainly our bathrooms but we did a few things to our kitchen also. I was so happy when it was over!
Glad to have you.

Haha - my first thought was, is she really going to try to convince this girl that she lives at Walt Disney World. Then I realized you meant love. I laughed so hard. Sorry.

I'm taking my pre-reqs to apply to the nursing program at UTA. Where does your husband go to nursing school?
Nope, I meant love. Sorry, I was typing faster than my brain was going.
That's a lot of C's. Haha. That's all I have to add.
Oh, I'm not in the program yet. Still taking my pre-reqs. I am taking bio and microbiology this summer and then A&P 1 and 2 in the fall and spring. I will be applying for the program in January.
I don't really know how other programs work, but for UTA, Microbiology, and both A&P grades are very important when applying to the program. All the sciences are important, but from what I've heard those are the most important. But like I said, all schools are different.
So I assume he's going to get his ADN? Or is he starting at quad C for basics and then moving to a 4 year school?
Just a little advice that I've learned from talking to RN's in the field, and professors at UTA who are also RN's and know a lot about the hiring process, they said it's optimal to put the extra time in and get a BSN vs an ADN. Although nurses are in high demand and probably always will be, the field is still very competitive and the new RN out of college with the BSN will get the job over the student with the ADN, according to who I've talked to.
Also, some hospitals are starting to make their RN's go back and get their BSN if they don't already have it.
Sorry, I know that's a lot of info! But, this is what I've learned all from one semester at UTA and talking to people in the nursing program. Just thought I'd pass it along!
Sorry! ADN is Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN is Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
I also already have a degree from UNT in Economics, but am getting my BSN. So, it's taking me longer than the Associates route, but I think in the long run it will be worth it.
No problem!
