Crib Prices
Is $200 reasonable for a crib? I have no idea. I don't want to seem like a spoiled brat and ask for outrageously priced furniture.

I refused to buy an expensive crib. We ended up with a convertible but I'm pretty sure this kid isn't going to be using this as his furniture his whole life so I felt no need to splurge on it. I just made sure I got one that was safe and looked nice.
I spent around $170 and got our crib at Walmart. I hate Walmart with a passion but I read the Baby Bargains book and they explained that the crib manufacturers will sell the same crib to different stores but use a different brand name depending on the store. So at BRU the crib has a fancy Italian name, yet the same crib will be at a store like Walmart with a plain name for hundreds cheaper.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of those convertible cribs. They are such huge peices of furniture, and I have known three people who have never converted them. Plus you have to purchase parts to convert them!
I really love those old school Jenny Lind cribs, and it's running about $200 on every website I look at. I didn't want to put it on my registry and have people think "really $200? Get real". I am so not in my element with this whole registry stuff.
