Drive in Movies

Are there any in this area? I hear that PA is actually a haven for this old fashioned entertainment.

I went to Shankweiler's with friends a few years ago.  My friends live in Allentown so I drove there and then they drove to the drive in so I'm not sure how long it would take to go there from our area.  It was nice, we took a box of wine and snacks and saw the Dark Knight.

Correction: Several were in our area.  There looks to be some in the Lehigh Valley and just west of us in Lancaster.

The one in Dillsburg I grew up going to. There isn't a ton to do there, but it's not far from Gettysburg, Harrisburg, or York if you wanted to make it a weekend away thing.

 

In HS we used to pile in the trunk and only pay for 2 or 3 people. Typically they do a kid movie then a "grown up" movie afterwards.

 

They now have the stereo system so you don't have to hook up the box to your car window.

Yep I've been to the one that Lando mentioned.   That may be the closest for folks in the city.

I get weekly emails from Delsea drive-in with their movie schedule. I have been wanting to go for over a year now!
