what do you do when you fill up your itunes?

we keep getting error messages saying we're out of room.  is there somewhere else we can store our tv shows and movies?

Re: what do you do when you fill up your itunes?

  • If you currently have the library stored on your internal hard drive and are running out of space there you need to get a bigger hard drive.   You can move it to a bigger hard drive - by either installing an additional internal hard drive or getting an external hard drive.  You can find 2/3/4 terabyte external ones pretty cheap  -- not sure where you are (going by the international nestie siggy) but Amazon and most electronics stores carry them.

Once you get one, transfer the entire library to the new drive and make sure iTunes links to that folder.   You can store things in a couple of different locations if you need to.

  • I'd recommend either moving all your music onto an external hard drive or upgrading your computer. It's not good to have zero room on your hard drive...your computer will be running very slow and some programs might not work at all.

  • I agree - use an external drive or update your computer.
