NER: haunted tree ideas

So we have a HUGE dead tree in our front yard that has to come down this spring. I wanna dress it up for the Halloween to celebrate it as opposed to just getting depressed looking at it.

Any ideas for how? I don't wanna do anything to it I can't undo (like no perminant makers) and, its branches are waaaay up there so no decorating the limbs unless I wanna throw some things up and see if they hang from the branches.

mostly, I need to use materials that are rain proof so they dont' wash off or dissinegrate in the rain, like cardboard.

 TIA!!!

Re: NER: haunted tree ideas

  • how about ghosts? Cover a balloon in sheet, make the ends of the sheet raggedy, hang from lower branches - voola! Also you could put a tomstone at the trunk - don't know what material besides cardboard.

  • I was kind of thinking similar to jenni.  Turn it into a graveyard.  I've seen those rain proof (I have no idea what material...maybe styrofoam) grave markers in stores.  They have them at my dollar store right now, but the party supply store has nicer ones.  Put a big black crow in there on the tree or in one of the low branches.  Maybe find some weird wrought iron material to make a fence of sorts that you can drape some webbing over.  Good luck!  Let us know what you do to it.
