Re: i want to buy an ipad2 but not sure about 3G

  • I just got an iPad2 on Saturday. We'd been looking at them for quite some time now and decided on the 3G with 16GB. I got the 16GB because I'm not keeping very much music on it....maybe 100 songs. I also won't keep many pictures on it either. My main purpose in having it in since I'm in grad school, I wanted something I could take to class, keep notes on it, and read my textbooks on it. I'm happy, so far, with the decision we've made.

As far as covers go, I got one of the Apple Smart Covers as it can also be used as a stand.

Good luck! I honestly don't think you can go wrong with whichever amount of memory you decide to go with.

  • I just bought the 32g with the 3g....We live in a rural area, we have wireless in our house, and it's not like there are places to go around here (starbucks, panera, etc) where I would need to use it. Any place I would use my ipad2 (namely at home) I have internet access, which as long as you can connect to something wirelessly you have internet (which in this day and age is most places).

We went with the 32g, because we plan on downloading movies on to the ipad2 for DD to watch when we drive to Maine this summer (10 hours one way). We didn't want to have to worry about having enough room for apps, music, movies, etc.

I have the smart cover that apple sells, and I plan on buying a a case to mount it to the headrest for the car. I am getting the screen protector sheets.

  • I have the first iPad and just got the wi fi model. I have wi fi in my house, school campus, etc. No use in paying extra for crappy at&t internet when virtually everywhere is wi fi now
