What would you pair with Tiger Lilies along house?

I am going to plant tiger lily along 1 side of my house but I need a complimenting perennial that is hardy (MN home) and robust and on the larger side (windows are far from ground) but not so huge that they'll take over the house (I really wanted to do a snowball bush but its just too unruly without massive maint.).

I would also like something that is colorful with bountiful folliage.

Thoughts?

Thank you!

Re: What would you pair with Tiger Lilies along house?

  • My Asiatic Lily plants are about 6 feet tall.  They are pretty crazy :) I get a few flowers per stalk that are huge.  I wouldn't want anything taller planted near them.

My daylilies are smaller and bushy.  My neighbor has these great tall yellow flowering plants mixed in with hers.  They are blooming right now but her lilies arent blooming yet.  I wish I knew what the plant was called because the varying heights look good together.  I'd go to the nursery and see what's blooming right now and buy it.

I have a purple butterfly bush that I like a lot.  The purple would look nice with an orange tiger lily.  We have ours tied up to our fence so it's not spilling out everywhere.  Plus it's easy to trim because the stems arent very thick or woody. .
