Cleaning out the track of sliding glass doors

Anyone have an easy way of doing this?  I've been using a hand vac, then wet wipes, then spraying cleaning solution and folding up paper towels to fit in there and get everything up and I'm sure I've made it way more complicated than necessary!

My approach is similar.  I start first with a small brush (the kind that fits with a dust pan) to loosen up items and see if I can get some of the debris out that way. Then a hand vac.  After that, only if I can still see a lot, I'll use a wipe or a paper towel.  I'll also spray with a silicone spray every once in a while to keep the mechanism smoother.

I am sure it is very different but in my sliding shower doors I use q-tips to get the mold that builds up from water.  Any suggestions on that would be great as well.

I use a shop vac and follow up with wet rag. Sounds like thats about the only way to get it clean! I'd love if there was an easier way though.

Q tips are a good idea!  Much smarter than me making progressively smaller paper towel pieces to get in the tiny corners.  I so wish it was easier...oh well, thats the price you pay for being able to have a giant "window" instead of solid wall, right?

Steps 1 and 2 are perfect.  For step three, reverse wrap a Qtip with tape (sticky side out) to get the last of any gunge in the corners.  My SIL is an OB-gyn and she gave me a box of ginormous Qtips that are the size of my sliding glass doors.
