Re: S/O Harry Potter land!

  • I took my class there on a field trip last week and I was soooo excited!!  The main ride is now on my list of best rides ever!! The butterbeer was delicous!  It was such a fun day!

  • I went last August and despite the ridiculous heat, it was amazing.  The ride in Hogwarts is possibly the coolest ride I've ever been on.  The attention to detail is amazing throughout the entire area, the food is great, and I agree, the butterbeer is delicious.  I hope to go back soon!
  • I have to agree that the ride is probably the best I've ever been on. We took my 9 year old niece and I think she was a little scared at first, but once the ride started she was so excited and she loved it! If the line wasn't over an hour we would've went on it again, but we went right after it opened last July.

There is an option right when you walk in where you can skip the majority of the line.  You aren't guaranteed to sit with your party, but it cuts the line down to about 20 minutes or so.

  • I chaperoned 2 different high school trips in March and May so I've been to Harry Potter world twice now.  It's really cool but the ride made me so sick!  I tried it again the second time and thought maybe I could just close my eyes in the beginnings (the main flying part with the screen) but it didn't work.  It's so weird because I can go on any other ride in IA and feel fine but for some reason the HP ride kills me.

  • I love it! The ride and the butter-beer are both awesome! I have been several times (we have Universal passes) but I have not been into the and shop yet.

On a side note, Harry Potter comes out a few days after my birthday. I would totally have a Harry Potter 26th birthday party!

    I love my crazy child!

  • I was pg when we went though, so I didn't get to go on any of the rides. I have no idea when we'll get there now! :) I definitely don't want to go during the summer. We went to Universal in August one time and almost died of heat stroke...even my H who is used to working outside all the time! It must've been the heat coming off the pavement or something...I have no idea, but we were miserable so we left in the middle of the day.
