Restaurant recs near Hill

We'll be spending a few days in St. Louis soon and was wondering if anyone could suggest their favorite restaurant in The Hill.  We'll be staying near Forest Park and would love to head over there for some good Italian food.  Preferably something with vegetarian options and that's kids friendly as we have two young children.

I've browsed Urban Spoon and the like, but figured the locals would have the best suggestions of where to head.  Thanks!

  • I definitely think you should check out Rigazzis. They are absolutely delicious. They are also family friendly and have a pretty good size vegetarian section. If you decide to go to The Hill I would make sure you make reservations at least 24 hours in advance.

I grew up on the Hill, so I have a lot of favorites! Here are my recommendations:

Rigazzi's is a great suggestion - their veggie pizza is delicious!

Favazza's and Zia's are a little nicer, and the food is amazing. I've seen plenty of kids in there before.

Adriana's is a great lunch spot. Delicious sandwiches and salads. They have a great veggie sandwich.

For dessert, definitely stop at Missouri Baking Company!

    Have fun!

  • I totally agree with the Favazza's rec.  So yummy.  I also love Guidos, an Italian/Spanish combo in the heart of the Hill.  Super tasty, affordable, and family-friendly.
  • Favazzas is a must.  It is one of DH's and my favorites!

  • Zia's is a good one! Modesto and Guido's are also yummy choices but they are more into tapas. Have fun!
