How was your long holiday weekend? Did you do anything fun?
Mine was good. Nothing really fun. DH worked most of Saturday and a little on Sunday. It was very relaxing for me though. We went grocery shopping, so it's nice to have real food in the house. We started car shopping yesterday, but got a late start, so didn't get to look at much.

Re: How was your weekend?
We went to the cabin! The weather on Saturday was P.E.R.F.E.C.T. I got a few inches of my scarf crocheted, did lots of reading, ate too much junk food, and played lots of cards. It was fabulous.
It was HARD coming in to work today. :-(
I had a great weekend at a friend's cabin. It was my birthday on Friday so we celebrated at the cabin. We rented a pontoon for two days and I caught the only fish of the weekend. The weather was great Friday and Sunday! It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. I have today off and then back to work tomorrow : (
We had a punky cat who went downhill fast on Friday and ended up having to put him down.
SUPER SUCK.

I've got a sinus infection so between that and the crying, I have used up a lot of tissue this weekend!
I'm glad, however, that my friends wife is a vet to warn us to race the cat to the ER Friday night. I'm glad my husband wasn't seeing clients late, and I'm glad my parents were home to come over (for the kids) so I could say good bye. Otherwise our poor Jack would have died a horrific death Friday night and the kids would have woken up and found him.
My w/e was normal. It was my holiday to work, so I was up F/Sa/Su night and slept all day. The H got a ton of work done on his project car, which is great since his forum asked him to represent the cars in a show this Saturday. He is super excited. Hopefully I'll get down to Chanhassen to see him in the show...
We got our windows washed, so that's nice and I broke down and asked my MIL to help with my curtains. She is a sewing genius and we kicked out two last night and will try a few today. Thank goodness.
ElizabethD: So sorry to hear about your cat. Hope you and your family are doing ok with the loss of a pet.
That's awful! I'm so sorry!! You have two cats, right? How is the other one reacting to the loss?
My weekend was busy with family, but relaxing and pleasant (especially the fact that my 5 year old nephew wanted to cuddle - and wrestle - with me all weekend - LOVED it!!) . The only downer was driving back to the Cities for 3 hours with no A/C yesterday - ICK!! Thankfully I have another appointment at the garage to have it checked out (they've' ruled out the compressor and now think there is a freon leak somewhere) - and hopefully they'll be able to fix it this time.
Tonight I am meeting some friends who are visiting from the UK and we are grilling out at Lake Calhoun. I'm meeting my friends' 3 month old little girl for the first time - cute!! Plans are a bit disorganized at the moment, but I'm sure it will be fun!!
ElizabethD - I am so sorry for your loss.
Our weekend was good. Very productive, which was good... but it also was a lot of time with Joe, doing specific tasks, and our working/thinking style is so different that we clashed a few times. It's best when we can work on our own projects, or have one of us in charge, but we were doing a few new-to-us projects and we both tried too hard to figure it out and it just didn't go well.
Things are better now - I made up for my irritable Type A personality by cooking him some spareribs on the grill. We planted a few things in the yard, pulled up sod to make our veggie garden, and went for a motorcycle ride. I love long weekends!

H and I went home to WI for my baby sister's HS graduation. I can't believe she's starting college soon! (We're 7 years apart, so I still think of her as a little kid.)
So we were busy helping run errands all day Friday/Saturday, then busy with family stuff all day Saturday/Sunday. On the plus side, I had more than my filling of cheese, sausage, and beer to last me a few months
The weather was absolutely perfect all weekend, too, so her class really lucked out. It was like 45* and rainy when I graduated in June back when.
Other than that, H and I are just busy finishing up stuff for the house, hoping we're not forgetting anything. Oh, and I have an interview (for a promotion) next week, so I'm stressing about that as well. eek!
