a forsythia miracle

i had heard rumors this could happen ... but just saw it with my own eyes.

a few weeks ago i planted some summer bulbs and marked them with a discarded forsythia branch from pruning. just stuck it in the ground.   well ... yesterday we noticed that the branch has sprouted leaves!!!   nature is amazing.

Some plants are easy this way. This is exactly how crepe myrtles are started in the nursery- a guy walks along taking cut twigs out of a bucket of water and poking them into the mud. Most of them grow.

I've heard you can do this with hydrangea too. I've done it with dahlias.

"The meek shall inherit the earth" isn't about children. It's about deer. We're all going to get messed the fuckup by a bunch of cloned super-deer.- samfish2bcrab

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
