I have a friend coming into town this weekend from CA. She is the 'touristy' type and likes to see stuff. I am totally not that person and never stray too far from our house. Lame, I know
So, she'll be here 2 and a half days. Where do I take her to give her a sense for Detroit and the surrounding areas? What things are on the 'must see' list?
Thanks Ladies
ETA: it doesn't have to be IN Detroit. Just in the area.

Re: What to see in the D
I am not super familiar with everything you can do in the D. But, I do know I like to eat in Greektown. I also like Henry Ford Museum and the Detroit Zoo. The zoo is fun because you can just run over to Royal Oak and check things out too.
Is there a Tiger's game any of the days she will be here? Then you can hit up a game, Greektown for some food, maybe the casino.
Take her to both coney islands in Detroit and let her decide for herself which one is better
If she is a shopper, take her to Somerset.
Plus the other suggestions listed above are all good too!
This - and the DIA!
Eastern Market (Saturdays only until 5pm)
DIA
Greenfield Village
River Walk
Pewabic Pottery
DSO
Outdoor concerts at meadowbrook?
For food:
Good Girls Go to Paris
Greektown (Pegasus)
The Atlas
The Whitney
If she is into "touristy" stuff, take her to see the "Spirit of Detroit", the RenCen, the Fox Theater and "the fist". Maybe she'd like to ride on the People Mover too?
I think other PP's suggestions are good too!
