Re: Is it June yet??

  • oh...me, me!!!  I think it's the no break that is making it so hard.  Because of the hurricane days we don't get a break until Thanksgiving.  I think we all (teachers and students) need a break.  Those teacher work days and 4 day weekends do wonders.  Well at least I have maternity leave to look forward to.

  • Party!!!No kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Party!!!

I don't think people realize what kind of stress teachers are under to do more with less, it doesn't matter if it's high school or middle or elementary. Plus not even having a raise this year makes it all that more difficult, and the time change for schools OCPS makes it stressful as well.

Stress is at an **all time high**.

Parents want conferences "with all of the teachers"............................ in high school. We have all sorts of email contacts, newsletters, and K12 planet that shows grades yet  that isn't enough.

Plus we are only able to ask the teachers to be there at 9:00 am by contract, and classes start at 9:20 am.  After school is out of the question, by contract teachers cannot be asked to do something beyond 4:30 pm.

  • All of you teachers deserve an award!  There is no way I would have the patience to put up with all of the crap you all put up with!  My mom is a retired teacher (who still subs a couple times a week) and I know the hell she used to go through.  Thank you for all that you do!

  • OMG I cannot even talk about stress right now!  Being a first-year teacher is HARD!  Wow, I had no idea...I really do like it, though!  It's the hardest job I've ever loved!
  • Good to know I'm not the only one! lol....it's crazy!!!
