Hi ladies! I need your help! H & I are taking our 4 year anniv. trip next month to the beautiful city of Savannah and I need recs for places to eat(def Paula Deen's!) and places to visit. We love history so I think it'll be a great time. We are staying at a lovely Bed & Breakfast near all the main attractions/squares. Any advice is much appreciated :-) TIA!
Re: Savannah Recs?
Bummer...I had a whole response all typed out and then it disappeared!
Anyway, we ate at Vinnie Van Go-go's for pizza in City market. Very tasty and it's cash only. We also ate the Olde Pink House. It was neat and worth going to. Kind of pricey though. Also ate at the Pirate House. It was a neat old place, but pricey. It is haunted as the previous poster mentioned.
We also did a trolley tour and I definitely recommend that. Take the Orange Line. If you start early enough in the day, you can get on and off throughout the day.
Have a great time!
My sister is a server at Brasserie 529 if for any reason you happen to go there!

Some "inside info" from my sister in case you're interested
She has never heard good things about Paula Deen's from anyone who's gone-- she's never even bothered going there because no one ever has good things to report. (She's lived in Savannah for 4 years) She says a place called Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room is a great alternative.
But if you go, let me know how you liked it because I would be curious. I have never gone there either
Yeah, that's a cool place!
H just went to Savannah last weekend for a bachelor party and our friend who is from Savannah told us the same thing about Paula Deen's. Said it was overpriced and not good at all. Another couple we know said the same thing from their visit. Too bad because I've made some of her recipes and they are good!
Good to know!!! I hear everything is covered in butter even the salads lol..maybe that is exagerating but still haha.
good idea!!!! :-) if she would ever come on the board ;-)
