If you normally wear suits to work, what do you wear in the summer? I started a job in the fall where I normally wear suits everyday. But it is freaking hot now. I need to look professional, but don't want to be uncomfortable all summer. And I always wear pants, so no dresses/skirts
Re: Wardrobe Help
Lightweight sweater sets and pants, so you can wear the shell during the commute and add the sweater in the A/C. Macy's has a good selection.
Ditto pp.
I only spend a couple minutes walking across the parking lot but still feel sticky-gross by the time I'm inside. Will you have to be outside in a professional capacity or are you just talking about the commute?
If it's just the commute then def. look into 'dressy' t-shirts, or sleeveless t-shirt tops designed to be worn with suits and carry the jacket over the arm. If you have to spend significant time outdoors with people I'd def. look into investing in a summer weight, light colored suit or two.
Shells under suit jackets. I also have a couple of 3/4 sleeve jackets that aren't parts of a suit, but coordinate with neutral pants and they are lighter. I have one suit that has a 3/4 sleeve jacket, too.
But I take my jacket off while commuting. This morning I drove to a meeting rather than take metro because I didn't want to be hot.
