60th bday/40th anniv. party favor ideas?

Throwing a party for my parents 60th birthdays and 40th anniversary next weekend and still havent come up with a party favor idea.  We are having it at a park in a pavilion.  It's for approx. 75pp so looking for something inexpensive but creative. Only thing I thought of was making decorated cookies but last time I tried that they didnt turn out looking so great so sort of nixed that idea.

 Anyone have any ideas???

  • Is there a local apiary?   For Mom & Dad's anniversay, we worked with a local apiary for small jars of honey and added tags saying "How sweet of you to come and celebrate with sweethearts Bev & John."
  • If you are serving canned beer, you could supply each person a personlized koozie and they could keep that as a favor.

Otherwise, I am doing this for a 4th of July Party I'm hosting: I'm taking 2" round hard swirl suckers and personalizing the sticker.  I chose this so they wont melt in the heat.  You can find & personalize them at www.orientaltrading.com and then display them in a bucket of sand or a rectangle box with craft foam and cover it with hard candies then stick the lollipops in that.

Some ideas for the stands are:

  • Edible party favors are always a hit....how about cotton candy, popcorn, cupcakes to go, candy apples, fudge, how about a candy bar like you see on hostesswiththemostess for all the kids parties where jars of candy are laid out and people get to choose what they want to take home.....that might be cute and fun...some other ideas - mongrammed wine stoppers, playing cards, dominoes, wine...

  • You could contact a local bakery about doing cookies for you.  That would be pretty inexpensive, I would think.
  • Hi there! I know it sounds a bit silly but oriental trading company! It's awesome, i actually used if for some stuff for our wedding reception a pretty cheap. They have plenty of decorations and party favors! They have an online store too so that makes it much easier than the catalogue.
