Pumpkin Patch

We're hoping to take DS to a pumpkin patch soon, since we know he'll just love it ;) Does anyone have a pumpkin patch that they recommend?

Re: Pumpkin Patch

  • Oh, and I know there are some neat ones out in Beaverton NW of Murrary and Scholls, so if you know the name of any of those, let me know. Thanks!

  • Sauvie's Island is hands down the most popular in the Portland area. You just take Hwy 30 out towards St Helens.  The traffic out there is a nightmare on the weekends though, so be careful!

  • Last year we took our daughter (who was around 6 weeks old) to Baggensto's Farm on Roy Rodgers Road in Sherwood.  It was a nice, small little operation that wasn't too overwhelming for a newborn.  They had animals to look at as well as a hayride to go pick pumpkins, but they also sold already picked pumpkins if you aren't up for the hayride.

I have heard that Sauvie Island is a great place to go, but crowded, and Roloff Farms has stuff going on, but they are always crazy busy.  I know that my husband and I were looking for a lower key pumpkin experience for our baby.  This year we hope to be able to do a little bit more now that she is older and more active.  Good luck finding the perfect pumpkin patch and have fun!  Let's hope for good weather on the weekends!!

  • Oh yeah, last year I found this website, www.pumpkinpatchesandmore.org they list all of the local pumpkin patches and u pick vegetable farms.  That is how I found Baggenstos.  Good luck!

  • We ended up going to Baggensto's because we were looking for some place pretty mellow. Ends up we've been there before in the summer for their produce.

We had a great time! Well, DS slept through the whole thing but we got some cute pictures and they had great pumpkins for great prices!
