So I just noticed in your siggy that you have a Unicornuate Uterus.  I also have a birth defect of my uterus...a Bicornuate Uterus.  I did not know there was a "uni" variety.  Just makes our babies extra special miracles. Smile  I did not find out about my defect until I got pregnant with Noah and thank GOD he was able to make it to 38 weeks until being born.  He shocked my doctor who was expecting me to have a premie!  He has been stubborn ever since!LOL

  • Hey!  Yes, aren't we lucky?  I found out about my UU at my c-section.  We thought DS was having a difficult time growing because of pre-e, but it was the combined result of pre-e and me having a half a uterus.  I also only have one connected ovary, so we had a difficult time getting pregnant because my unconnected ovary was the one that liked producing the follicles.  They are going to watch my bp really closely this time, but other than that my ob expects me to have a very normal pregnancy and hopefully a 6 or 7 pound baby.  She's even letting me consider a VBAC.  So are you on any of the Yahoo Group's message boards?  They have a wonderful UU board, and I've heard their BU board is great, too.  How big was Noah when he was born?  Did you have trouble getting pg?

  • We had no problem getting pregnant this time...he actually is a Honeymoon baby of all things!  He has been a miracle baby since the beginning!  We have been told though getting pregnant with BU is very hard most of the time...but Noah implanted just right on the bigger side of my uterus and was able to grow really well there.  I had an u/s every four weeks until 32 weeks to measure growth and he was always pretty spot on.  Every week I went in to the doctor after 28 weeks my doc said "You are still pregnant!?  YAY!!!"  Noah ended up being 6 lbs. 15 oz. when he was born at 38 weeks.  I said to DH..."Did she just say 6, 15???!!!  WOW!  And then just started crying"  After months of worrying...here was my miracle baby.  While they were in for my c-section, they explored and I have a "True BU" and not the Septate Uterus they thought I may have.  I realize our conception journey might be VERY different with #2 though, as you know first hand.  I am not on any Yahoo boards, although I have heard good things about them.  I wish you a very healthy and stress free pregnancy!  Grow, baby GROW!  My prayer that I said over and OVER again was "PLEASE God, may this baby grow BIG and STRONG!"  I will say the same prayer for your LO!:)

  • Aw, thanks hun!  I have a feeling I'll be able to grow a nice big baby this time.  =)  That's wonderful you had such an easy pregnancy and ttc journey.  Hopefully next time (if you're hoping for a next time) is just as easy!  Thanks for paging me and telling me your story!  Noah is just adorable!
