update on the new job...

so far I got a $115 ticket on day one. Today I put my car in a lot  for $17 and bought a bagel and juice $5- Ive worked in NYC for 2 days and I am going broke already!

So far its hard to tell what to make of it all. It is a step up, the building is new and clean and very hi-tech (its such a difference from never having paper or toilet paper or ink).  I couldnt even get the copier to print copies today.

I feel like an overpaid intern so far. I am going to be an asst to a sgt. My direct boss is nice but I have a feeling Im going to be feeling lost for awhile until I get the hang of things. I havent had anything to do since I have to be pass a security clearance so all Ive done is make copies! The pros are I get treated like an adult, I can network with tons of people and I got a cubicle with my own phone, computer and a new blackberry!

I still have to get used to the commute its only 12 miles longer than my old one but seems to take an hour longer!

It always takes time to adjust to a new job -- I'm sure in a few weeks you'll be feeling much more at home there1

I'm on month 2 of my new job. I can commiserate. It isn't always easy.  I still can't remember my long distance code or whether to dial 9 or 99 before faxing something.  Most people have been understanding and helpful. I just try not to be so hard on myself.

I can't wait until I feel more comfortable!  Things will get easier for us.
