recs for gardening help

Hi!  I used to have a nest account, but I lost track of it this past year.  I finally went ahead and created a new account so I could get back to participating in the community here.   It's nice to be back!

I have a quick gardening question: I'm looking to hire someone to help me dig out two shrubs in my garden and dig holes for three new ones.  I don't need any help with landscaping, garden design, or even with planting; I just need help with the manual labor of digging.  I tried to do it myself today and found I was in over my head.

Has anyone hired someone to help with digging or other manual labor in the garden?  Any recommendations?  TIA!

Re: recs for gardening help

  • I would call some handyman type services and see if they could do it. I doubt many landscapers would get involved since this is their busy season and you only need holes dug. Maybe a new landscaping company would need the work. How big are the shrubs? We pulled out ten last Sunday and it wasn't too bad. However it wasn't 100* either. There is no way we could have done it in this crazy heat. Welcome back to the board! When did you post before?
  • Jose Galvez, he has done a lot of work for us as well as of several friends and neighbors. Everyone loved his work.   301-332-4644      Tell him you got his number from Jenni and he will know

  • Not sure what area you are in... but we have used CASA of Maryland to hire a day laborers for this type of work and it was a great experience. Sometimes you have to pick them up if you live really far away though. We are in walking distance of one of their offices.
