So long story short, we are not going to be able to celebrate DH's 1st Father's day ON Father's day so I am either going to plan to do something with him to celebrate the weekend before or weekend after. Anyone have any fun ideas to share on what they are doing or have done in the past for your DH's for father's day? I'm positive you girls might have some creative ideas!
Re: Father's Day Ideas...
Well, since my birthday falls on Father's Day every few years (like this year, for example), it's a bit different for us. We tend to do a birthday "party" on Father's Day weekend, and have done so nearly every year since I was a kid.
I like the idea of starting a tradition to go out and spend time as a family. It wouldn't have to be the same thing every year either. A day at the zoo, the aquarium, a ball game, the beach, picnic, etc.
last year i did the DAD frame. basically got a frame with three openings and took three pictures of DD holding the letters D, A, and another D. DH loved it.
Daycare last year put DD handprint on a baseball and wrote Happy Fathers Day 2010. That was really cute too.
this year i have no clue what i am going to do...
I'm making DH a picture with L's hand prints that says, "Hands down, I love my daddy" or something like that and I'll put it in a little frame for his desk at work. I'm sure he will leave it on the table for months before he remembers to take it with him though! lol
I think I'll do the same thing for my dad from L.
