Tell us something we don't know Re: CA trial

I'm getting bored w/ the State's case. So far, all they've proven is that casey anthony is a big fat liar.

20+ witnesses to prove she is a liar.

Yesterday after they adjourned for the day the State said they had approx 20 more witnesses.. I hope they have something new to say; like.... how casey killed caylee. Or some sort of evidence that she actually did it.. besides the "smell" -

Unless the State has a trick up their sleeve I honestly do not see Casey Anthony getting the death penalty on this..or even first degree murder.. i know we are only 8 days in, so there is a lot left to be said..but that's my feelings so far.

bitchiscrazyforsure..

That's a good point...she certainly looks crazy and super fishy, but I'm still waiting for it to all be tied together. As much of a mess as the defense may be, it is definitely to their advantage that they couldn't determine cause of death, so the prosecution can really only speculate as to what actually happened to Caylee. To me, the most damning evidence so far is the duct tape on her mouth, but if I were a juror, I don't think that would be enough for me to convict someone of a capital crime. (Of course, I also missed like 4 days of testimony...grrrr!)

I'm enjoying this testimony with all the recordings of interviews and what not. She really is a mess. I just kept thinking "shut up and ask for a lawyer, Casey! Don't give them your computer! STOP TALKING." Dumb.

  • I missed most of the last 1.5hrs .. a patient came in 45 minutes early..and then his wife proceeds to puke all over the floor in my office.. so I was busy dealing with that mess..gross.

  • I agree. I don't think she will get the death penalty and maybe not even first degree murder.  She will no doubt be convicted of something and spend time in jail.  If they can't tie it all together, there is a reasonable doubt that she didn't do it.

Do I think she did?  Yes.

Do I have a small doubt that she didn't do it?  Yes.  And that is all it takes.  One juror, having one doubt.

  • From what I've been reading - thanks to your updates and the internet - I don't think the State actually HAS a case. Yes, she's a horrible person but that's all they've been able to prove.
  • Baez is still a dirtbag. He's a lucky dirtbag, that's for sure.

  • Did she really just say that another inmate recommended Baez?

What were they in for? A drug charge... good grief. what an idiot..

Is there a way to see what other cases he's tried? like if he has any 1st deg murder cases?

So who is paying for Baez?  Can he really be doing all this work pro bono?  H always says people always hire crappy lawyers.   They never look into their background, etc.  They either price shop or go off some random recommendation like other schmucks in jail.

Totally cracking up that Dr. Phil sent her a letter like ASAP!

  • Ok, so here's my random question in all this.  Does Baez know what REALLY happened?  Or when he first met with Casey did he just tell her to keep it to herself and they would create a defense or whatever?  I don't know how he could live with himself if he did know, its an innocent 2 year old's murder.

I guess this question pertains to any sort of courtroom trial, does the defense (or prosecution for that matter) ever know what really happened?  I don't know much about how the procedure in all that works.

I thought I heard the judge mention at one point that she is indigent, so I assume the state is paying. Don't quote me, though.

You're correct - the state is paying for her defense team.

Why would they not give her a PD then?

ETA;  And actually a PD would be a waaaay better defense team.

  • that just pisses me off even more that the state is paying.

oh. and her being so effing cheerful on these interviews is totally irking me.

My understanding is that the state is paying defense expenses - so things like subpoena fees, expert witness fees, travel, etc.  The state is not paying the actual attorney fees.  I think this is the difference between having a PD and being declared indigent.

Ew indeed! Also, holy unethical, batman. Let's just hope that's not true.

I agree that it does sound awkward when she calls him Jose though, normal or not.
