People need to think before they speak

Now that I have wiped away my tears, I think I can write this up.

I was sitting at work and this guy came in to pay a bill. As I am sitting here he looks at me and said, oh so your pregnant eh? Huh? I said no why? He then said "Oh well you look very pregnant" So I told him "Nope, guess I am just fat then"

Now, I know I am not a skinny as I once was, but that really stung and I couldn't hold back and started sobbing. I didn't think of myself as being overweight, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to lose maybe 5-10lbs and be healthier.  Looks like I have to get my fat butt into gear and start running again and eating better!

  • I had a client last week ask me if I was pregnant.  I feel your pain girl.

    I hate people.

  • People are assholes.

    I had a lady come in here and ask me if I have a problem with my thyroid.

    I was like, if I did, would it be any of your GD business?!

    ::hug:: sorry girl.

  • Your beautiful hun, don't let it get to you.  He needs to get his eyes checked!

  • Indifferent

    I'm so sorry.  I don't know how some people can think it's okay to just blurt out things like that.  The state of someone's body, no matter what it looks like to someone else, should never be something a stranger comments on. Even if you were pregnant, people really shouldn't say anything.  I've been constantly slammed with ridiculous remarks about how my body looks throughout my whole pregnancy.  Even if it's meant to be a compliment, it's nobody's business to be telling me where I'm gaining or not gaining weight, whether I'm gaining too much or too little, etc.

    Also, seriously, if you have to ASK if someone is pregnant, if there's any doubt, you shouldn't be asking at all.

    On the more amusing side of this, a cashier at Target asked me last week if I was expecting.  Um, I have an enormous bump right now, clearly there's no doubt I'm pregnant.  I looked him straight in the eye and said, "No, I'm just fat."  He was really embarrassed.
