Maternity Leave

Good afternoon Nesties. Me and my husband are thinking about starting our family later on this year. I looked into maternity leave at my job and found out that I can get up to 3 months leave but it is not paid. So I have been looking into other forms of income while I am on maternity leave. Any suggestion?  TIA!

Re: Maternity Leave

  • I suggest saving before your leave because you will not have time or want to do anything except for care for your baby. You could also consider taking a 6 or 8 week leave.

I am currently in the middle of my second unpaid maternity leave.

  • I agree with pp. You won't want to work or have the time or energy. Can you save up sick and vacation leave and use that? Does your work offer short term disability? Maybe you could take 6 weeks and go back part time?
