Hello Ladies! You always have really good ideas and I'm needing one at the moment. My parents bought my brother a truck for his high school graduation. He has NO idea!! My mom and I are having some problems coming up with a creative way to give him the truck.
The party will be at our church in a small town. The party is also on Saturday in the afternoon. What are some creative ways that my parents could present him with his truck at the party? We have thought about a scavenger hunt, but aren't sure about the questions as the party will be at the church. We have also thought about a box within a box within a box for the key, but aren't sure where to go about getting boxes. Any other creative ideas are welcomed and appreciated!
TIA!
Re: HELP!!!! Need ideas for giving a car as a surprise gift!!!
Hope these ideas help. Have fun and video tape it!!
1. While the party is taking place; have someone your brother does not know come in and make an announcement that a truck registered to a "John Doe" (insert your bro's name) is being towed outside.
Your bro may argue he doesnt have a truck, but the person just says "you may want to come outside and settle it with the tow guy". Everyone will follow them outside to see what all the fuss is about to find the truck outside with a bow on top and your mom standing next to it with the keys.
2. Have a few guy friends approach him and say they need help moving some stuff and does he knows of someone that has a truck. While he's thinking, they interrupt him and say "Hey...Don't you have a truck?". Your mom stays in ear shot of the conversation and then casually says "You need a truck?" to your bother and hands him the keys with a bow on them.
3. Have your brother open his gifts in front of everyone; give him this t-shirt in a gift bag as the 2nd or 3rd gift. As he reads it...have your mom waiting next to him to hand him the keys.

I love #s 1 and 2 of the suggested above. If you want to stick with the box within a box thing- go to any moving store and buy a few different sized boxes. Or office supply/home depot/lowes...
Good luck and LUCKY BROTHER!

i really like jj's ideas! #1 is my fav.
~ you could buy a toy truck that looks like his, or take a pic of it and frame it and when you give him the gag gift you tell him how the economy has been really bad and how you wanted to buy him a real truck, but you just couldn't afford it right now. maybe that would be the first gift and then the last one is the key to his truck in a box inside a box inside a box.
~ you could have someone bring their really shitty truck or car up to the church and then you give him the key and pretend that that one is his truck or car. say something about "this being all you can afford right now." tell him to get in and take it for a spin, watch his face. if his real truck has a keyless remote on it that would be even funnier, since who would have one of those on a shitty truck. then when the key won't fit in the wrong truck you can tell him to find "his" truck in the parking lot. if there are a lot of ppl there with trucks that would be better. where i live, in a very small town of 1500 ppl, everyone has a truck!
~ wait until the party is over and ppl are going to the parking lot to leave and then tell him, "ok, meet you back at the house (or whatever works here)." and then act like you are going to leave him there and tell him that one of the cars there might have the key in it and maybe he could "borrow" it to get home. ok, this one sounded way better in my head...lol. maybe you could modify it somehow?
~ get a fake scratch off lotto ticket (they are all winners, of course) and then when he scratches it and he's all excited say, "now you can buy a truck with that money!" then he'll realize the ticket is fake and then you give him the key to his real truck.
that's all i got right now.
GL! sounds like a lot of fun. come back and tell us what you end up doing. PIP's would be good too!
I like the idea of taking a photo of the truck by the PP above then having the key in a box later.
Good luck!
