On this the first weekend of summer (IMHO), what are you looking forward to this summer?  A vacation, food, special occasion, something else?

I'm looking forward to:

• working at the Farmer's Market (tomorrow is my first working day this season!)
• EATING from the Farmer's Market
• Tending my garden

It's supposed to be in the mid/high 70s today and tomorrow, so i'll count it as the first weekend of summer!  Nothing exciting planned for this weekend, but we'll do some gardening and yardwork and i might read in the hammock for a bit.  One of our local FMs opens this weekend, so we'll swing by.

ETA: Oops, i read, "What are you looking forward to this weekend."   That's basically what summer will look like, anyway

Not having to teach for 11 weeks so I can spend time with my daughter  Yay for the last day of school today!!!

Playing co-ed softball again, on a team with my husband and best friend, so that's a good time.  There's a fun wedding next month I'm looking forward to, trips to Little Italy for super yummy food, baseball games, our strawberries getting bigger and bigger on our balcony, National Hamburger Festival (includes an organic, locally raised booth that I'm looking forward to supporting) and a lot of relaxing and enjoying the nice weather.

I'm looking forward to relaxing at the natural spring pools, summer produce from the farmer's market and outdoor (evening!) concerts.

I'm looking forward to "harvesting" food from our little veggie garden, cooking with our CSA produce and our family trip to Colorado in July!

I'm looking forward to having the next 6 weeks off and spending 4 of them on the mainland with my family at the beach (ironically)

I'm looking forward to getting married finally in 3 weeks! I'm also looking forward to my best friend coming down from Canada for a month to visit. In 7 years of friendship we've never actually met in person, so this will be fun.

Now that the school year is over and I don't have to teach every day I am looking forward to catching up on everything that fell behind with my insane schedule this year.  Organizing the house, keeping it clean, working in the yard, and catching up on leisure reading.  I'm also excited for the local FM that has grown quite a bit this year, and having time to walk the dog and play with him during daylight. lol

I'm looking forward to our upcoming Colorado vacation...I'm counting down the days!

We're also hoping to take advantage of having enthusiastic young interns in our office who want to take in the LA sites; we've lived in CA our whole lives and there is so much of the city we haven't seen!

I'm also really, really hoping my doctors figure out what the heck I did to my hip so I can heal and then take advantage of the hiking trails they just re-opened (after 2009's wildfires) in the Angeles National Forest.
