My poor furbaby : ( Kinda long

My dog Lucy goes and stays at her "grandma and grandpas" frequently. That's where she spent almost the entire first year of her life so it's her second home. Well tonight we went to pick her up and stayed for dinner. We had just gotten done eating dinner and Lucy started barking, which she normally only does when one particular dog from across the street comes around my parent yard. This dog came into my parents yard and attacked poor Lucy. And mind you, this dog outweighs by 15 pound dog by like 150 pounds!! Poor thing was traumatized!! Not to mention when H and I first got to my parent this dog was following us down my parents driveway and growling us (and we without our dog at that point). So when it attack Lucy we called the police. Luckily the responding officer is a guy I went to school with so I am going to follow-up with him to find out what happened when he went to over to their house. Needless to say, H and my dad are FURIOUS with this dogs owner and the dog! When this dog has came over growling other times his owner comes over to corral him and talks to it like it's baby....how will that teach your dog discipline and to not do that anymore?!?!

  • Aw that is so sad! I hope Lucy is alright today, and that you and her grandparents are all calming down.

I hate when people are irresponsible with their pets and don't care when they attack a poor innocent puppy like Lucy!

  • Aw how sad Sad Glad to hear she is at least okay though. Several years back, a pitbull attacked my sister's 10 week old toy poodle in our yard. He jumped the fence in his yard and came across the street into our yard and attacked him Sad He barely survived and had to go through numerous surgeries. My mother was so furious and ended up getting the police and animal control involved and ended up getting him banned from the neighborhood. He had almost attacked children before and almost attacked my mother the same day that he attacked my sister's dog.

  • There are few things in life I hate more than irresponsible pet owners. Why was the dog off a leash and roaming freely? Where was the owner? Etc. etc. I feel so bad for Lucy of course and am glad she's okay, but I also feel bad for the other dog. He'll never have a good life and become a good dog if his owner won't teach him what's right, or at least take precautions if he can be aggressive :(
  • Unacceptable! Having a pet is a huge responsibility that too many people do not take seriously.  Last year, my cousin's little girl got mauled by an unsupervised dog and will have scars for life all over her face :(  Glad to hear that Lucy is okay though :)

  • That is horrible!  I hate people who think it's okay that their dog runs the neighborhood!  You never know when something/someone will set them off!  I hope Lucy recovers quickly and some sort of punishment is bestowed upon the owner's of the dog that hurt her!

This dog is always roaming freely. Granted when we are outside with Lucy at my parent or our own house we don't keep her on the leash BUT she never leaves the yard. The owner was at home. But they said nothing and they never try to discipline the dog when it comes growling at people.
