Soooo a few of us have talked about planning a meet and greet for the new people to come and hang out with us old-timers...

People that are moving here...when are you moving?

I'm available Sunday June 26th, or Saturday July 23rd, or Sunday July 24th.

I don't think we should do a restaurant because then you can't really talk to everybody... A picnic at a park would be fun, bring a food item to share with the group?  And those of us that have little ones could bring them and let them chase each other on the grass while we chat...? 

Or I'm down for whatever else!

A potluck/picnic in the park sounds great! As of right now, I'm free July 23/24, but I will be visiting the 'rents sometime in July.

Any of those dates work for me - my husband will be in AK doing his commercial fishing thing, so I'll be so ready to get out of the house and be around people!

Our anniversary is late July - the 29th - so I'll have something to celebrate too 4 down, many more to go!

The latina in me loves the heat, but is totally flexible - the clubhouse idea sounds fun, as does a park picnic. Basically, I'm down for whatever!

Booo I can't make any of those. darnit.  I MIGHT be able to come on July 23rd (which is MY birthday so I want the diamonds and tiara then) for a bit. 

We're doing the rope course in Forest grove on the 24th for my birthday....you could all come there ha ha.

Hi all - I will be in Vegas for work on 6/26 but the July dates should work for me.  Unless the hubby happens to be in town from Indiana.

I think everyone on this thread has been posting on this board, so we sorta already know who they are.  Anyone from a national board who wants to come should post here and introduce themselves, especially if we're doing it at Scarlett's clubhouse and with kids around.  We've had a few wackadoos come out before and it was no bueno!

Actually, the more I think of it, I think the park idea is best. I can just suck it up and drink ice water, lol!

As most of my long-time peeps know, I am very private, and I would rather 'know' you all before I have you at my place. We have had some weirdos come to play in the past, and I just don't want things to get awkward.

Once we get to know each other, my place is always open for friends! And thanks Ann for thinking of me!!

I think a park sounds perfect. You guys aren't the only ones worried about weirdos... at least a park is public (even if it is "shady"... hah), and I can be a little less worried about all of you old-timers kidnapping me and holding me for ransom in an apartment.

Gabriel Park is a great place.  Very centralized location, has picnic areas that can be reserved and play areas for the kiddos.  They also have an off-leash area for those that would want to bring their pups!

This sounds great to me! I won't get there till the beginning of July, so the June date won't work for me. Just plan around me & I will do my best to make whichever date you guys decide on. I can't wait to meet new friends!
