How was your shower?

Did you allow for photos? :-)

Re: Marcy

  • I allowed for photos, my SIL's think they're part-time paparazzi. I'm shocked none have been posted on FB. There weren't any posed pictures taken.

We're completely blessed and overwhelmed with everything we received. Other than a breast pump, we have 90% of all our large $$$ items taken care of.

One thing my bff put on the invite was that instead of a card, please purchase your favorite baby book to foster the joy of reading that I have. Well...people went' overboard. I have hundreds of books (which is awesome, just unexpected), and I'm not sure where/how to store them all. Every guest bought more than 1, most bought more then 4 and one bought close to 20+. They're for all different ages, which is fantastic, so I'm not sure if I'm going to store them and bring them out at appropriate ages, or put them on a shelf in the babies room (which makes me dread the constant cleaning up of hundreds of books).

I registered and received two diaper bags, so now I'm trying to decide which one I'm keeping and which one I'm returning. I like them both, but I feel like a moron because I honestly have no clue what features, or size I'll actually need. I hate making all of these blind decisions considering I've never done this before.

Shockingly, I didn't receive a ton of diapers, nor did I receive ANY receiving blankets. However, I'm drowning in books and Carters colored onesies! I'm shocked that I received NO CLOTHING other than Carters colored onesies and one 12 month dress. Shocked. Do I need all of these onesies?????

  • Sounds like a success! I would keep both diaper bags and use one as a back-up. I'm thinking of getting another one for this very reason.

What size are all the onesies? I'd say yes, unless they're all 0-3 mo, then it might be a little overboard. I'm worried about not having enough warm clothing come fall and winter, so we'll likely have to supplement all our onesies with pants and jackets too.

Hurry up and post pictures, we want to see!

  • That's so great!! I'm so glad you received so much!!

    I want photos!

  • Glad it went well, and you got the majority of the big items, and I think two diaper bags would be a good thing.  One for you and one for G Smile

No.  I've done good with a 5 pack of white onesies in each size range.

I know this may sound mean, but I'd return anything that you think you probably won't use and get things you know you will need.  You will totally be drowning in stuff if you don't.  Buy Buy Baby will take back anything new if you have one near you.  Trust me, I was drowning in baby stuff and it won't stop for a few months.  I'm still receiving baby gifts 3 months after-whenever people stop in they will bring more stuff.  It's insane how generous people are when it comes to babies.
