Anyone ever been? I'm going there in August for Bachelorette weekend and just want some restaurant/nightlife reco's. All we have planned is a wine tasting. Thanks
Re: New Hope, PA info?
Oh, I love New Hope! I grew up about half an hour from there (as did Lisa), so my family went there a few times each summer. DH and I did a day trip there last summer and had an awesome lunch at Triumph Brewing Company, which is just off the main street. We did wine tasting at New Hope Winery which is a mile or two off the main strip and the wines were really good. There are a lot of good restaurants but I'm not that familiar with the current ones. There's a really good ice cream shop if you walk to the end of the strip. I can't remember the name but they have cookie dough ice cream that tastes like actual coookie dough (not just vanilla ice cream with chunks of dough in it). They've had that same flavor since I was a little kid so I always have to get it when I'm there.
I'm not sure about nightlife since I've never done that there but there seems to be a decent number of bars. Just an FYI, New Hope attracts a lot of bikers and a lot of homosexuals (interesting mix, I know).
Some other things to check out in the area are Lambertville, just across the river in NJ (River Horse Brewery is there if you want to do beer tasting), and Peddlers Village which is a nice shopping area a couple miles away.
Oh, and parking can be a nightmare in the summer so try to get there early!
haha I've heard this - odd choice for a bachelorette, but she wanted a low-key girls' weekend. thanks for the info girls!!!!!!!!! I will definitely check out that brewery, since you both mentioned it.
