I'm going to be busy all week and probably won't be able to check in at all.
So just for fun, here's a summary of what you probably would've heard from me over the course of the week:
- We bought a new dining set this weekend- YAY! Got a great deal at Jordan's.
- DS is being baptized on Sunday and I'm kind of stressed out because I'm going to have a crazy busy week and won't have much time to get anything ready. I haven't even tried his outfit on him yet!
- DH is traveling Sunday to Friday next week, and this is the only week he hasn't traveled in the last four, and it's the only week, basically ever, that I'm really busy.
- We are starting to plan our summer and want to go to California, but I'm nervous about flying with DS. If we travel in the first couple of weeks of August, DS will be just about 9 months (::dies::), so he should be fine. But I'm so afraid of being that person on the plane with a screaming baby. He's generally laid back and happy, but I'm still scared.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! And I hope you have a great week!
Re: See you next week!
Good luck with everything, Lady E!
And as a non-kid person who is a super cranky traveler, even I can tolerate a crying kid on a plane as long as I see that the parents are actively trying to calm him down. Shoot, half the time when I fly, I feel like screaming/crying right along with them. Flying sucks. So as long as you're not sitting there flipping through a magazine and listening to your iPod while your son screams bloody murder, people will understand. And I bet he'll be fine, anyway.
I think ead1975 makes some good points about traveling with kiddos. People understand that sometimes kids cry; as long as you appear to be trying to calm him down, it'll be fine. And I've had so many friends do long plane rides with their kids and they've all been pretty successful so hopefully BabyExtravaganza will follow the trend!
Good luck with everything this week! Oh, and let me know if you're headed to the SF Bay Area and if you want any suggestions.
Good luck with everything this week!
I think you will be fine on the plane. I think PP is right...people really only get annoyed when the parents aren't trying to comfort their children, and let the scream.
Thanks ladies!
Since DH travels so much, we actually have enough points to fly first class round trip, so that's what we'll probably do. It'll give us a little more space. We'll probably be annoying the rude-r fliers, but whatever.
