Do any of you use Origins products? I'm thinking of making the switch from Clinique but want to hear some positive reviews first.
Re: Origins?
I have used Origins for years-- after having used Clinique for years.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Origins! I use the "Checks and Balances" face wash (for combination skin), A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian (my face gets very dry on the cheeks from the wind and sun), A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer with White Tea, and I use Modern Friction when I feel the need to exfoliate.
I love that there are no extraneous chemicals in their products, they smell fantastic instead of lotion-y/medicine-y, and they work! Even with all the stress of nursing school, my skin stayed mostly clear (I have the skin of a 14 year old, I swear).
I haven't tried that yet, as I have a little bit of that as well-- but my sister has much more serious rosacea which doesn't even respond to prescription treatments. The rosacea product is worth a try. Ask at the store if you can get a trial size of it (if available-- sometimes they won't give you one, though) so that you can see if that is what you need.
Otherwise, I find that the A Perfect World White Tea Guardian works wonders to help calm my red cheeks (which get worse from the wind/sun chapping).
I used Origins for years, and still do, but not as much since the winters up here have demanded I use prescription stuff at times. I have extremely sensitive skin and Origins was the only thing I could ever use. Clinique did not work for me.
Like Daniele, I use Checks and Balances, A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian. I also love their mint shampoo, use modern friction, the eye puffery lotion, and a lot of other products.
I've turned a lot of friends and family onto Origins. Also, if you buy online you get a lot of samples and good deals!
I have Rosacea, and the only thing that really keeps it under control is topical Metrogel, which is available via prescription. Unfortunately, it also has a real drying effect on your skin, so I go on and off of it. (There are also questions about whether or not you should use it during pregnancy.) Direct application of Tea Tree Oil sometimes also helps, as does a moisturizer with Aloe (and SPF of course) -- I get that from the Body Shop, along with their Aloe face wash.
That said, I've never tried the Origins product for Rosacea, so I'd be curious to hear if anyone has/has had good results with it.
This would keep you with Clinique and you asked about switching to Origins but...I've recently started using Clinique's redness solutions instant relief mineral powder and love it! There is a whole line of redness products but the powder is all I've needed. Redness-proned skin (although not full on rosacea) runs in my family. The powder does a good job of taming my redness and making my skin temperature cool down - especially if I'm tired or been around too many chemicals (e.g. bleached hotel sheets).
