I got a tub of coconut oil. but it is hard to get any out if. I was trying to use it on the baby but I got frustrated! how can I make easier to get out of the jar? I assume it needs to be heated a bit which I don't have time for when changing his diaper but I could do it for when I want to put it on my skin, etc.
also please let me know some other great uses/ideas you have come up with regarding its use other than for skin! TIA!
Re: coconut oil questions...
When I first bought my coconut oil, it was the same - super hard. I didn't refrigerate it (and I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to anyway) and in a few days, it was soupy. You can probably place it in a window sill to speed the process up. I use my coconut oil for cooking, because of the high heat point. I used to use EVOO, but after smoking the entire house up several times, I found that coconut oil (and almond oil) are good alternatives. I've also used it as a hair mask, mixed with a little milk. You can also use it for oil pulling, I'm not sure how much into Eastern medicine you are, but it's a good use of the oil. Here's a good site that give a few uses:

My research is that is good for yeast infections as well.
I put mine in a little spray bottle and when I need it I put it down the middle of my bra for a couple of minutes. It is hard to put in a regular little jar because it leaks for me. It melts at 76 degrees according to the label.
