DH Bragging Time

I know a lot of times we talk about the little things they do that bug us, but how about we share something awesome they did recently?  No matter how big or how small, share it here!

Re: DH Bragging Time

  • I can't remember DH going out of his way to do something "extra" special...but I love that he is so equal on household chores, he does dishes, laundry and vacuums without me having to ask :)
  • Mine helped me finish some DIY projects this weekend and did laundry.   Oh, and bought me a Kitchenaid mixer for an early birthday gift. :)

I told everyone, despite the fact that I have ALWAYS wanted one... not to get me one because we don't have the space for it until we remodel the kitchen.  He surprised me with it anyway, and we made room. :)

  • I'm so proud of my husband going back to school. Today is his first day back :)

    Tiffany,

    We love ours!!!!!

Bill, just like before, has taken really good care of me over the past week.  Going to the store (which he is not always good at), bringing me things, picking me up from work.

  • ~Ah Julie, what a great idea!!

~Tiffany, I love mixer!  I'm sure you will too!

My brag... DH took me shopping a couple weekends ago on a whim.  He bought me a bunch of new clothes!  I haven't bought myself new clothes in forever because of all the WR expenses.  So sweet of him!

  • I was having a bad day on Friday (personal stuff, before the G2G), so DH brought me a rice krispie treat from starbucks.  They are my fave.  He's sweet.

I've been mentioning that I REALLY wanted to extend our back deck.  DH started the project while I was out of town, and has been working on it in the blistering heat for the past few weekends.  He still is no where near done, but is so sweet to do this.  I had no idea it was such a big job.

  • My DH also took me shopping, right before the honeymoon. I couldn't believe he was willing to go with me to the mall, but he knows how much I hate shopping but also how much I needed summer clothes before our honeymoon.

The few times I've gone out of town and he's home alone, he always cleans up his messy office area (which is part of our den, and the only part of the house I'm forbidden to keep clean) as a "surprise" for me. I love that he does that, and also that he doesn't think I've picked up on what the "surprise" could possibly be (even though that is always it).

  • I was really tired after the baby shower yesterday, and even though DH had been working all day, he still made dinner.
  • My DH tells me daily how beautiful I am, how hot I am, and no matter where we go he makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the room.

He doesn't know how much those little things mean to me.

ETA: Especially means a lot when I'm feeling gross and unattractive.

  • Matt has been putting up with me being rather cranky lately and I really appreciate it because my work stress isnt his problem but he knows its hard to not let it impact me.

He went to our company picnic with me yesterday and was there for 3 hours with a bunch of people he didnt know in 100 degree heat....and didnt complain one bit.  I was a happy camper.  I think he just enjoyed seeing me get pelted with water balloons by my team.

DH has been doing that more lately and it means a lot to me as well :-)

And I also love that he helps keep the house clean!

  • Ever since we have been married it seems (maybe I just notice it more) that when we are out in public, where there are a lot of people, Matt has his hand on my back.  Not in a shes mine way but in a making sure I am okay or by his side way. Its so weird but it gives me little butterflies everytime he does it.

  • Summer DH does that too!  It's so nice to feel like you're still pretty even when you know you're not at your "best."
  • My DH just pushes me away (in a joking manner of course.)

My DH does that too! Almost like he's guiding me or protecting me. I love it.

And Lacy, I agree! He always says it when I need to hear it the most.

    Exactly

  • This post is making me sad... I found out last night that DH will be gone at least through next weekend (we thought he might get to come home this weekend or today).

But, when he is home, I love when he does things I hate: mowing, grocery shopping, etc... and when he shops, he'll buy like 8 boxes of the granola bars that I eat every single day at work.  It's comical, but he remembers them and it means I'll have plenty to last a while!

    Angie,

I know this doesn't make it any easier but there were many times that my parents spent apart due to my dad's work.  He was very good at what he did for the phone company and they sent him a lot of places to troubleshoot and install. Considering that I had friends whose parents were divorced and they got to be together every day, it just meant that they were that much stronger that they could survive it.  My dad even did it leading up until a month or so before both of us children were born!  You'll make it and those granola bars are his way of being with you every day.  Hugs.

Geez, I haven't cried since he left, and now I'm all teary-eyed.  Thank you - I needed that.  Now my breakfast every morning is going to be more special :)

  • Courts came to the gym with me tonight even though he didn't want to because he knows I sometimes have a hard time getting motivated to go without him.
