Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Internet providers?

We have qwest and our internet goes out AT LEAST every 8 weeks or so. It will randomly not work every couple of days, but when it goes completely out we have to have someone come out and usually end up getting a new router. I think we are on the 2nd one this year. When it works it is great, but it is so annoying and time consuming every time it goes out. My question is who do you have for internet and would you recommend them? Thanks!

  • We have Mediacom - but in full disclosure, my husband works for them.  That doesn't mean we don't have our own annoyances with the company from time to time.  Wink

    As far as Internet service goes, though, we haven't had problems. 

  • We had Qwest when we were in Des Moines and didn't have issues.

    Here we use Windstream (formerly Iowa Telecom), but I don't think it's available there.

  • We have Qwest & have never had any problems. Have you asked them why you're having repeat problems?

    They said they don't know why it keeps going out. They come out and check everything and then usually just give us a new box and tell us the "old one" ( that was brand new a couple months before) just went bad. No real reason.

  • We have Mediacom and have not had any internet problems.  My dad has Mediacom and has tons of internet problems.  We had Qwest prior to Mediacom and had issues with them, but we mainly changed because we got a better price through Mediacom.  I think it really depends on where you live and how your cable is set up in your house.  I would make sure they are crediting you back for the days you don't have any service!
