I'm getting ready to book our trip to Oahu for our 1 year. I scored an awesome deal on Expedia for $614 per person including airfare and hotel. The only downside is that it won't be with Hawaiian Airlines, but for the price we can't complain. We can choose from two airlines, United or Continental. I don't know which to choose. I've only flown once and that was last year on Hawaiian.
Can I get some opinions on which airline is better? Or are they all pretty much the same?

Re: Frequent Flyers
I love United, thats who we took to Maui last year. A non-stop 7.5 hour flight to Maui and they were so accomadating and nice. Even offered H a chance to move if his legs were uncomfortable (because of his height).
Other than that I have flown southwest and they are nothing to brag about, I always seemed to get stuck on old planes. I hate old planes! American was ok, but just ok.
They actually just merged. They're in the process of merging identities and flights and such, but they're now one company.
Personally though, I'd go with Continental. I've actually been using them almost exclusively. They didn't start out as my first choice, but over the last couple years have become such. And DH has a frequent flyer card with them.

Ditto everyone else, you'll probably be on the same plane no matter who you choose.
We just booked our flights to PA for Christmas, and United and US Airways share ticketing, so we had our choice in booking, but the flight is operated by United. These deals are always so funny to me, but whatevs.
Be sure to sign up for the frequent flyer program, whichever one you choose. We're currently trying to build up US Airways miles for free flights to PA (it requires fewer points or something than United, even though it's the same flight). If you're not trying to do that, you can get stuff like magazines with your points.
Yup. Merging so they're all the same.
I fly all the time and really don't prefer one carrier over the other. I can't really say (IMO) that any of the airlines have a leg up on the others in terms of customer service, etc. I kinda think they all suck equally. I have frequent flyer cards with pretty much every single airline and just pick the one that's cheapest at the time we book our trips.
The merging makes sense since both flights have the same departure time and cost the same. I think I'll go with United.
We can bring snacks on the plane too right? I feel like such a dummy asking these questions but I'm new to flying.
Oh, yeah, bring your own food. I'm a picky eater, but H will eat anything. I bring things like Clif bars with me in case there's nothing else. Your itinerary will tell you whether they will serve you a meal or not. Honestly, the past few airplane meals we've gotten were not as horrible as in past days.
I was certainly still glad to have my healthy snacks, though! For the honeymoon, the flights were like 9 hours there, 11 hours back. In addition to the Clif bars, I brought dried apples and nuts from Trader Joe's, and they hit the spot.
Also, I brought my large camelbak water bottle on our past two trips. It was empty going through security, then I filled it up (for free!) with ice and water at one of the food stations before we got on the plane. Water at the airport is ridiculously expensive, like $10. I am way too cheap for that shiit.
