So funny...babywearing comments

Do any of you babywearers get lots of comments when you are out and about? I've taken Trace out in our Moby a few times already and every time I get lots of comments. I think it is pretty cute- usually from old ladies and kids who are excited to see a baby. It's like people are so surprised to see him all snuggled away in there.

  • I get stares, like 'why aren't you making that kid walk' um because she doesn't walk yet!!

I have had people look like OH that's cool!

OH and the one that creeps me out: I wish they had one for adults

  • I've gotten a few comments about how comfortable the baby looks, but other than that nothing.

  • Yup-mostly when I wore her in the moby though. I wish she still liked to be worn! She hates been constrained though.. :-(

  • Mostly when I'm wearing her in the RS because it's really pretty. :-)

People tend to say how great it is that she's so close to me.

  • I get comments all the time.  I've worn C out in my Moby, other wrap, and mei tei.  Once, I got, "is there a baby in there?"  what were they expecting?  Mostly they're good comments.  A neighbor wondered if it wasn't heavy, and another wondered how the baby liked it.  So I use them as teaching moments to explain how it works.  It makes it a more interesting time when I wear him out in them.  W usually explains it best to the weird ones..., "That's my baby brother.  he's wrapped up.  he not cry then."

  • I used to get tons of comments when I wore Wesley in my Moby. I got the "I wish they had one for adults, too." All of the comments were positive, but Wes hasn't let me wear him for a while. I wish he would since he gets heavy being carried and finds walking over-rated (even though he took his first steps this weekend- yay!)

You should hear how much Nick was gushed over when he wore Wesley. It was like he was Dad of the Year!
