This is dumb but I had to check to see what you girls think.
Every time the bloodmobile comes to my work, I always donate. It's coming today. As some may know, H and I have been TTC for almost 2 years. I'm in my 2ww now. Looking back, I'm realizing that almost every time I donate, I'm usually in my 2ww. Just now I decided to do some research online and I read that pregnant women and also women TTC should not donate. I honestly never knew this! But I found the info on a bunch of sites. Of course now I'm having (probably) irrational thoughts that maybe all those times I was donating, it was ruining my chances. Who the eff knows.
I'm kind of more hopeful about this cycle for some different reasons...nothing to get too excited about but hey, I'll take any hope I can get after 2 years.
So I should not donate today, right? The problem is, everyone at work knows that I donate every single time and I'm afraid someone will ask me why I'm not today. I won't know how to answer without feeling really bad that I'm not donating.
Thoughts?
Re: WDYT? has to do with TTC
I obviously know nothing about TTC, but if you found a lot of various sites, and you believe that they are credible ; or even if they aren't and you don't want to donate today. then don't.
Tell your co-workers you aren't feeling well if you want. Don't they always ask you how you are feeling before you donate? Tell them you are feeling a little tired today, and donating blood will make it worse..Really it's none of their business why you choose not to... tell them you went to the Dr & you are borderline anemic so your Dr said you couldn't this time.
I don't know what 2ww is, but good luck!

Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it! I really like donating, it makes me feel good to help out, especially when I hear stories like yours!
If I were you I wouldn't donate. And don't feel bad about it for a second. You have already given so many people the gift of life. Hopefully you will be able to say you did the same this month, but for a different reason! I agree with the PP who suggested telling people, if they ask, that you are feeling under the weather or that you are on medication that isn't compatible with donation and you'll be waiting until the next time the bus comes.
I have my fingers and toes crossed for you!
Thanks everyone. The bus is here so I'm just gonna lay low. I guess no one will really care enough to ask me why I'm not donating, so hopefully I won't have to say anything to anyone. I hope this will somehow pay off for me
I am glad you explained this. I've wondered what it meant but felt silly asking. Kind of seemed like something I ought to know.
Good luck to you, Lauren. Fingers crossed this will be your month.
Lol, now you know
Btw, your ticker is scaring me! What's it like to be 51 weeks pregnant?
Too funny. I tried to remove it the other day, but couldn't figure out how and gave up. My H and I were talking about it and how much of a miserable *** I'd be if I were 51 wks pregnant! It actually prompted us to look up the longest known pregnancy.
Are you going to leave us hanging??? How long?
375 days seems to be the most common answer we found.
omg.

I was a big nerd and all nervous about DH and I going in a hot tub when I was ovulating. We went in anyway and that was the cycle I got KU with DS. Go figure.
Haha Kendra, I totally remember you talking about that!
Sometimes if I happen to rest my laptop on my lower stomach for a few minutes, I'll all of a sudden freak out and remove it asap... don't want to "cook" my non-existent fetus! I'm sure I have many other little "things" like this too.
