QOTD Tuesday: Senior Superlatives

With HS graduations going on, I just saw my old HS paper with this years superlatives.

So, did you win a superlative? What was it? Has it panned out for you?

Re: QOTD Tuesday: Senior Superlatives

  • wth is a superlative?
  • No superlatives for me. I went to a very small school and while I was friendly with everyone, I wasn't a "prep" and only they won superlatives.

  • My school had about 20 categories, and a guy and girl would win each one. I was voted "Most Likely to be Famous" because during my senior year I recorded an album with songs I wrote and played on guitar (also hired my producer's band to play backing on the songs). I also played acoustic at local open mic nights and coffee houses and sold my CD, about 500 copies. I still play every now and again, but don't think fame will ever find me. I'm more than okay with that.

  • My graduating class had 550ish kids and 10ish categories. I was voted Most Involved for being in twenty million clubs. So not really something that would pan out in the future? Although I'm pretty satisfied with my social life, so does that count?
  • I went to an all-girls' catholic high school with a graduating class of about 120 students.  All our superlatives were hashed out in the school hallways behind the other girls' backs.

Ouch. That sounds like a real self-esteem killer! I'd never survive in a school like that.

  • I feel like I won something, but I honestly can't remember.

  • I was voted Most Likely to Succeed out of my graduating class of 70 students. I feel like I am leading a successful life (have achieved all of my goals to this point and am very happy with where I am at in life). Getting the heck out of that town was the best thing that ever happened to 17-year-old me as I wouldn't have had the same opportunities there.

It actually wasn't as bad as all that.  I really enjoyed my time in high school.

  • I don't think I won any superlatives, but I did get the award for top English student and top French student. Then of course I went to college and majored in aerospace engineering. makes sense, right?
  • I didn't win any.

  • I didn't win any either. We had a massive graduating class.

  • None for me!

  • I think I had 50 in my graduating class, but I still didn't get anything. I wasn't in the right tier of students. haha

  • I was voted most talkative of my high school class by a landslide.  If you knew me well IRL, you would know that its very very very true.

  • None for me. I was friendly with everyone, but I wasn't in the right crowd.

Although I remember vividly the day that superlatives were announced. Somehow I had managed to end up in the first period that contained at least 50% kids who were nominated for something, and, as they were about to announce superlative winners, all those kids were holding hands in a little superlative pow-wow. Like girls in a beauty pageant stage. Myself and the other 50% of the class did everything we could not to laugh hysterically at how seriously they were taking the whole thing.

  • None for me.  I don't remember how big my graduating class was, but it was definitely more than 300.

  • We did the superlatives and super seniors (which had a picture and a bio about what you did in HS and what your future plans were in the yearbook) - I was chosen as a super senior.  It cracks me up to read what was written there, since NONE of it ended up true :)
