possible relocation to Newport news area from MI--teachers come in
Hi all,
We are currently living in Michigan.. outside of Detroit. My hubs has an interview in Newport News next week...so, we are looking into a possible relocation to the Newport News/Virginia beach area.
I am a special education teacher... how is the job market for teachers in VA right now? How do I figure out which schools districts to apply to.. would I look up the counties and go from there? Its different in MI, so I just figured I would ask.

I know in our school district the job market is hoppin. There are new teachers left and right, more students, more classes, and a greater need. We have added three new schools in the last 3 years and plans on expanding one highschool and building additional schools in the next 5-10 years.
MI vs VA, Va wins hands down. I went to school in upper Ohio and was in MI a lot. To say I hated it, would be an understatement. I flew out of Detroit Wayne at least once a month, and never had a good experience. Got my car broken into a few times as well. Not to say that it can't happen in VA, but I
VA.
I do know that special ed teachers in our county are few and far between, and I'm sure the same goes for Newport News area.
