Host a French Student
I am helping a nonprofit agency, NACEL Open Door, find host
families for French students in July.
We are looking to find host families for 20 French teenagers
who will be coming to North Miami in July. The kids will be in
an all day program during the week from 9am-5pm. They would be
with their host families on nights and weekends. The main
purpose in staying with host families is so that the students
can experience American culture and share their culture with
the host families. Families are expected to live their lives
as they normally do while opening their home to the French
student. The students come with insurance and their own
spending money so that there is no liability or cost for the
host family. Each child has taken at least 4 years of English
and the families are expected to speak English to the student
so that the student can practice their English.
NACEL Open Door is a not for profit agency that has been
promoting programs aimed at students who want to broaden their
perspective of the world and experience another culture. They
run exchange programs all around the world. They believe that
our world can be a better place if today's youth learn to
understand and appreciate other cultures. NACEL Open door
looks to volunteers in the community to assure that their
programs can be affordable to children from all economic
backgrounds.
