Ugh. Stomach sleeping has started :(

How come it is so much easier for me to tell other moms not to worry when their kiddo sleeps on their tummy than for me to tell myself the same thing. I knew this time would come but it seems so darn early and just scares me to death. B has decided that he is most comfy sleeping on his tummy and rolls there immediately when placed on his crib on his back. I go in and flip him but he just keeps flipping right back over. I was worried about this when he started rolling while swaddled so we broke the swaddle habit which makes me feel a teeny bit better since his arms and legs are free but I'm still so nervous. He seems so young to be on his tummy all night and this is the prime time for SIDs which is terrifying. Anyone want to reassure me? Or apply for a paid position to be my baby flipper all night? Stick out tongue

  • haha- I remember that feeling!  I think that he will be okay, but I understand the need to go back and try to flip him.  GL!

  • Well the Angelcare monitor is cheaper than a baby flipper ;-) That's the only thing that helped me sleep at night! Just make sure the crib is 'SIDS safe' and he'll be ok!

  • I think I posted this word for word a few months ago and you assured me that it was going to be a-okay.  And what do you know, you were right!  ;)

I'm with you though, I'm still nervous about his tummy sleeping and always go in to check on him (listen for breath, watch his tummy go up and down, etc).  But, like you told me, he will be fine and you will enjoy the fact that he's getting better sleep.  GL!  :)

  • Thanks for talking some sense into me ladies! :) He will be okay I know. However it is now creating other issues and we aren't sleeping at all around here (see post above) :(
