lowering the crib

When did you ladies put it on the lowest?  Ethan's has been in the middle for a long time, but at his 12 month checkup, they told us to put it on the lowest.  I always thought that happened when they were older.  We have been very lazy about doing it.  Today I walked in and found him upside down in his laundry hamper!  He had taken off his pajamas and thrown them in the hamper and then, I guess, tried to get them back out.  I took him to the pediatrician and everything is ok, but obviously we will be lowering it tonight.

Jack's has been at the lowest for months now.  He is crazy though and would have gotten out if not.  He climbs straight out of the bathtub already for about a month now, along with shopping carts and highchairs when strapped in.

Yeah, I should've seen it coming. He does that with highchairs and carts too. For some reason, I thought you dropped the crib later.

Since he could stand. We went from highest to lowest right away. And he still climbs out at the lowest setting. So we have him tented in now.

A is really tall, so we got to the lowest setting pretty quickly.  I want to say it was around 7-8 months but at this point it's so hard to remember and I didn't write down when we did it.  Although he never tried to climb out, I went by where the rail came up to on him when he stood up.  I always wanted it at head height.  So when it started to get below I knew to lower the mattress until it was at the bottom.

yeah its got less to do with age and more to do with milestones...

standing in crib? lower ASAP to avoid injuries...

now climbing out...that's a whole different story

Once she was standing in her crib...maybe 7-8 months old like a pp said. She has yet to climb out thankfully.

As soon as she could stand. Thank god I did, because I found her one night around 10-11 months old....she had balled up the sheet off her mattress and was standing on it trying to get out.
