Freebookspot.com question

How does this work exactly? Do I have to download a program to be able to download the books? Kasi, help me out!

Re: Freebookspot.com question

  • I'll walk you through it (the best I can!). Find a book you want to dl then click on the link it gives you (about half way down the page). That link takes you to a new page where you will click on slow download (not really slow, this is just the free one), you will have to wait 30 seconds then a captcha will show up and after you type in the letters then it will prompt you to dl the book. It will then dl the book. It comes in a zip drive. We have the program WinRAR so it opens in that. If you need the program you can find it here http://rarlab.com/download.htm. Click on the book file and it will open all the formats of the book, .lit .epub etc. Hope that helped! It is fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it!

I haven't downloaded from freebookspot.com yet. Turns out Something Borrowed wasn't available (link was removed). I use www.epubbud.com for my downloads. It really straight forward. Next to the book you search for is the download button. Your book will download in .epub format. If you have a Nook you just need to get that file into your ereader somehow (through folders on computer or by emailing to account). I don't know how Nook works. For Kindle users you need to download a progra called Calibbre to convert your file from the .epub format to the .mobi format. Calibre is like iTunes in that it's a book manager. You can store, sort, categorize, etc. But you can also convert your ebooks to the format supported by Kindle (.mobi). Once you download from www.epubbud.com you open Calbre and select the files you want to convert. Once converted the files are stored in your Calibre library file on your computer. From there you can hook up your Kindle and drag the converted file from the Calibre folder into the documents (I think) folder on your kindle via usb to your computer. You can also email the file to your Kindle email address. It sounds like a lot of work upfront but it really isn't. I have downloaded tons of books so far.
