Hi - I am not a regular nester, but I am looking for some job hunting advice. I am currently living in Japan, but will be moving to NYC in the fall and am in the first swings of job hunting.
As part of my initial search, I am reaching out to my contacts in my industry who are currently in the US to see if they know of leads and if they are willing to pass my resume along.
My question is whether I should go ahead and attach my resume to this reach-out email, or whether I should wait to send my resume until I get a response saying they are willing to help. On the one hand, it is probably most convenient for my contacts if they don't have to write back for my resume, but on the other hand I don't want to just assume they will help me out.
Any down sides to just sending the resume along on the first reach-out?
(I am on the opposite time zone as most of you, so I apologize if I don't get back to this post for a while!)

Personally, I wouldn't attach it. I would gauge the responses and if someone says they wouldn't mind forwarding your resume, that's when I would I send it.
