After watching the Voice last night,  Christina Aguilera needs to buy clothes in a bigger size.   What she was wearing was not even remotely attractive on her.

I only saw the Lady Marmalade performance, but I thought her clothes, hair and make-up were all rough.  She is one of those stars that goes through phases where she looks tragic for a while and then phenomenal for a while.

She also has the same trouble that Jessica Simpson does...they are both so short.  Anytime a person that short even gains 10 pounds, it makes them look so much heavier.

  • I'm so tired today.  Last night, my sis and BIL came over, and after they left I just kept puttering around the house until midnight, when I was finally so exhausted I couldn't stay up anymore.  I don't know why I do that to myself.

But, we started on the upholstery project for my dining room, and they were good helpers!  We didn't get any seats done, but we got several un-upholstered and new seat foam cut out.  I have to buy more foam and spray glue before we can do much more.  I'm excited about getting the dang chairs finished!!

  • Lauren- I am so glad she is doing well!

  • I am getting my hair done on Saturday, and I've never been more excited!!

I don't know what to do with it though, any suggestions?   It's definitely too long and the ends are damaged so I will be doing some major cutting.

  • Ok, I checked everyone out and we're all good here! She could've gotten them from outside though and not been protected enough. Ask for Revolution when you go to the vet. It's flea & heartworm preventative (so you only have to get the one medicine instead of a separate heartworm medicine) that we've had all of our dogs on since they were puppies, and we haven't had any problems yet. Daniel's uncle uses it too for their 5 dogs and they love it.

How is she doing with her classes?

I'm sorry about the fleas Renee. Confused

I haven't noticed any on our dogs, but I guess I should check them out closely now. Have you given her any flea medicine? The rescue gives everyone monthly medicine, but she didn't get any in the little time I had her.

    Angela,

No worries. It was bound to happen eventually. They aren't too bad so we're thinking she must have gotten them with us. We thought that if she had them at your place they would be loads worse than they are.

We've been bathing her every other day and vacuuming like crazy which isn't really working anymore. So, today when the apt is being sprayed I'm going to the vet to get her some of that topical medicine.

We'll get it taken care of, I'm not worried! Big Smile

Randomly butting in... but the topical stuff never worked too well for my dog.    When I lived in my hometown he ended up getting them from the neighbors dog and we got some Adam's Spray (in a blue spray bottle).  It is safe to spray directly on the dog's coat.   We sprayed him with it and rubbed it well into his coat once a month or so during the summer and never saw fleas again.

    Good luck!

We got that spray but didn't see any drastic change. But you're saying that you used it once a month and left it on his coat and it worked?

Hu, we'd try anything. The vet didn't seem to recommend doing a flea dip because he said we could get the same results from bathing her.

    Thanks for the tip!

We keep finding rolly polly bugs all over our apartment and I have no idea where they're coming from. And yes, that's their scientific name.

It's better than spiders or roaches, but its still a foreign tiny black thing crawling around on our floor that is unwanted.

They were all over in our cafe and restrooms at work yesterday too.  I also agree rolly polly all the way.

I'm glad to know it's not just our place they've taken up residence in. They're taking over the whole city at least.

    Where is everyone?

I am finding them in my apartment too. It's strange, in the 5 years I've been there I've never had a roly poly infestation til this year.

So some of you may remember me talking about that boxing boot camp class a few weeks ago? I went to my first one last night to try it out and holy cow what a workout. If anyone is in the Carrollton area 6pm Tues/Thurs or 9:30am on Sat, you should def check it out (and the first one is free.) I'm sure between this and my trainer and Bobbileigh and I starting C25K when she's better, I'll definitely be starting to look good when the other half returns home next month.

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

  • I had a delayed start to my morning.  I DVR'd the voice, so I haven't seen it, yet.  But, now I want to go home and watch it.  I honestly wasn't much of a Adam fan until the voice.  He is pretty damn hot.

I don't have much going on over here.  It's a slow day at work.

That's what I was going to say.  Or a lob.  A longer bob.  :)

Yea I've researched this, and they don't recommend flea dips/baths anymore, just the monthly topical medicine. Hunter, our lab, had the non-contangious form of mange when we first rescued him, and all the vet gave us was a bottle of the monthly medicine and we had to give him a little bit every day.

They say everything else that people used to do like the baths and spot treatment isn't really effective.

Shanan, are the books in your link ones that you've read and liked or are they ones that you want to get around to reading?

When you click the link it takes you to a page of books I've read recently, the red stars show how much I liked them. On the left side of the page you can click where it says "to read" and that lists books I want to read.

Ok, I'll ask for it. It is about time for her heart worm medicine anyway. She is doing so great in her puppy classes - she's so smart!

She can sit, (lay) down, and stand. We're working on walking with a leash. She's still a mess and wants to go all over the place. She loves her crate for bed time and she has only had one accident and that was because it was raining outside and she didn't want to go out.

Brad loves that she plays catch with us. We'll throw the ball and she runs down the hall at full speed and crashes into the front door. It's really quite funny! You should come by and see her. She's soooo big!

Ok, I never thought I would be that person that talks about her dog...sorry guys! Embarrassed

Aw yay! I knew she'd do well in classes! None of our dogs know stand! Daniel will be jealous, he's always wanted a dog that will play fetch with him, but none of ours will, not even our lab!

And if she pulls on the leash you can get a harness that I use for Chunk from Petsmart (they might have it at Petco) called Easy Walk, (here's a link http://www.premier.com/View.aspx?page=dogs/products/behavior/easywalk/productdescription) it helped a ton!

(Sorry to take over the thread girls!)

  • Leslie,  I didn't get to go yesterday but I plan on going after work today.  Thanks for all the tips!

I don't have much to say except that I have no motivation to do much of anything today.  I want to lay in bed and watch movies all day.  I need one of those days soon!!!

Ohhh...we will have to run a 5k when y'all finish. I love that program so much.

  • I'm beginning to think that this illness (along with last spring's) is actually related to the visitor that Summer is getting.  Today's the last day and I feel great.  My back still hurts a little but I was able to vacuum up some glass, gather some laundry up and start a load.

Dia and Xenia are my two favorites right now on "The Voice".

  • Renee - Yes, it worked!  It was at least 5 years ago though so maybe they've changed their forumula?   It worked great for us. :-/

Summer, Lacey, and Angela -  Um yeah, I will never have a bob again.  Makes my face look even rounder and I look about 14. (Don't believe me?  Look up Mark's profile on FB at his profile pic.   You will also see the wonders of Bare Mineral makeup and a camera flash.)   He refuses to take that stupid old picture down!!

Maybe a lob, thats a good idea.   I've really enjoyed having it below my shoulders because I don't have to worry about every little piece falling into the right place.  It is so long now though that I could probably cut 3-4 inches off and still have it at shoulder length.

  • I'm here but I will be busy most of the morning and afternoon. Dang it!

BL I hope you get to feeling better.

Tiffany I vote a lob too!  I've been thinking about doing that to mine but I always regret cutting my hair after I do it.

  • Umm Tiffany, I just checked & I kinda love it on you! & your face doesn't look round at all, it actually looks long!

  • Leslie, I agree we should all do a fall 5k or something.  I could run one back in Omaha but I seriously fell off the wagon on my running and endurence training when we moved here.  I tried keeping it up but the only place to run was alongside a highway with cars passing at 70mph no thanks, and I just havent had the motivation till now to get back into it.

Tiffany, I agree on the lob that would be super cute.

  • Tiffany - Google Jen Aniston's new haircut.  She has a lob.  It's shoulder length.

Lauren - I know I'm late on this, but I just caught up on my photo blogstalking.  I am seriously sitting in my office with tears in my eyes from looking at your photos on Lynn's blog.  Everything really came together and I enjoyed every.single.detail.  :)

  • Also, Tiffany, I just FB stalked you & my favorite of your profile pics in the one where you're in a car with green earrings. Your hair looks really cute there!

Ditto.  What round face?  You're crazy.  ;)

  • I'm having Cottage Care clean my house tomorrow for the first time.  I am way excited... and DH is too!  Even though the idea of someone else cleaning our house freaks him out... he's coming around to it.  I just don't have the time!

Clappity, clappity!!!!  I hope that you have as great an experience as we have so far.  Our second cleaning is tomorrow.

Dana - How was the couponing trip yesterday?

My co-workers daughter is here and she just colored me a picture of a unicorn. She came out and asked me what my favorite color was and wrote in green gel pen To: Leslie From: Brianna - it kind of made me awww. I hung it at my desk.

I have not watched the Voice or much of any TV lately, 'cept for the NJ Housewives, which is pretty much my favorite show right now.

I am kind of busy at work today, so I will be more sporadic than usual this morning.

I was like.. wait, what did I do?!  Haha, I forget that I'm not the only Brianna in the world.

  • I finished The Help last night so I can get back to real life.  Yay!

My right ear is still being weird.

My neck area had a reaction from my sports bra on Monday and I am still red. It looks awkward as well on my pasty white skin.

I crunched some numbers and I am going to have to take 2 weeks of vacation, at least, by next summer.  Or I lose it.  Which will not be happening.
