Saving Seeds?

I'm hoping to harvest seeds from some of the veggies I grow this year to use next year.  Specifically some of the cucumber and squash varieties.

What do I need to do to "harvest" the seeds and keep them so they will grow next year?

Re: Saving Seeds?

  • I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I was also wondering how to save seeds as well.

  • I had a cantelope I bought from the grocery store, and when I cut it up to eat, I decided to save some of the seeds. I laid them on a papertowel for a few days to dry out. Then I moistend the paper towel and put it in a ziploc bag to see if I could get them to sprout that way (I don't why I thought of this. Grade school project maybe?) That didn't work so I just put them in a peat pot with some potting soil and they sprouted. This all happend over the course of a few weeks and I now have cantelope planted in my garden.
