I bought 2 air plants while on vacation in Florida a few months ago. Based on Google, I think they're technically called Tillandsia. One of them is doing beautifully. It sits in a large shell I found and is growing nicely. The other one was doing great, and even produced many flowers, but now it appears to be dying. I can't tell for sure, but i think it's actually several plants wired together into a sphere shape. Individual plants are dying. I water them the same (dunk in water or mist with spray bottle, depends on my mood) and I haven't changed anything. The only thing I could figure out from reading online is that they might be getting TOO wet. Does anyone know anything about them?

Re: Air plant care
If it's turning yellow, you're getting it too wet. How often do you water? I'd water them once a week at most and lightly mist. Also, are you giving it too little or too much sun? THe only other idea is that maybe it's got a disease or a pest.
It is turning brown- appears dead in spots. I water 1-2 a week, usually a mist. I thought it was getting too dry, so I started running them under water. Both plants are within 4 feet of a window, but not in direct light, because that's what the cashier told me to do.
